Letta Code

Stateful agent harness whose agents rewrite their own memory and skills.

Letta Code is a stateful agent harness from Letta for agents with memory, identity and experience over time. Agents learn by rewriting their own memory blocks, skills and prompts. Context is tracked in git through MemFS. It offers message search, subagents, hooks, permission modes and self-managed crons and heartbeats. Users can reach the same agent from a local CLI, the browser at chat.letta.com, or Slack, Telegram and Discord. It installs via npm, uv or pipx.

The team behind it

Stateful agents with memory, from the team behind MemGPT.

Letta (formerly MemGPT, out of UC Berkeley) builds an agent server with built-in memory, context management and state — letting agents persist, learn and be edited like files rather than living in a chat window.
