ByteRover CLI (`brv`, formerly Cipher) gives AI coding agents persistent, structured memory. Developers curate project knowledge into a context tree stored as markdown under `.brv/context-tree/`, with git-like versioning (branch, commit, merge, push/pull), a review workflow for curate operations, a web dashboard and optional cloud sync for teams. It supports many LLM providers. The GitHub repository was archived in June 2026 under the Elastic License 2.0, though the docs and npm package remained live afterward.
