Amazon Q Developer

AWS's agentic coding assistant across IDE, CLI and console.

Amazon Q Developer is AWS's generative-AI assistant for software development, available in IDEs, the command line, the AWS Console and chat apps such as Slack and Teams. Its agentic capabilities write and test code, review and refactor it, run upgrades such as Java version and .NET Windows-to-Linux porting, and can read and write files, generate diffs and run shell commands. AWS states it will discontinue support for the Amazon Q Developer IDE plugins on April 30, 2027, pointing users to Kiro for similar capabilities.
