'The runtime your coding agents live on': a persistent, agent-aware terminal multiplexer.

herdrdev/herdr

Maintained by herdrdev

herdr is an Apache-2.0 Rust terminal workspace for coding agents such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, OpenCode and Grok. It does not wrap or replace those agents; it owns their terminals. A background server keeps sessions running after the client detaches or SSH drops. After a restart it restores layouts and can resume supported agent sessions. Each pane is marked working, blocked or idle. Agents can drive herdr through a CLI and socket API to spawn panes, prompt each other and wait on blocked peers. It has tmux-style keys, mouse support, multi-machine SSH and plugins.
