smolvm

smolvm provides branchable microVMs for AI agents: real VMs with their own kernel that boot in under a second, use elastic memory and run any OCI image on a laptop or own servers. Machines are declared in a Smolfile (image, resources, ports, mounts, network policy) and driven from code through a daemonless Machine SDK, locally or on smol cloud. Running machines can be checkpointed (RAM, CPU state, disks), rewound, or branched into copy-on-write children, and an arm64 Mac checkpoint can resume on arm64 Linux.
