Multica

A board where coding agents pick up issues like teammates.

Maintained by Multica

Multica is a source-available, self-hostable workspace for assigning issues to AI coding agents as if they were teammates. Agents pick up issues, comment progress, raise blockers and hand results back for human review, while the intent, run, decisions and diff stay linked to the same issue. It works with existing agent CLIs including Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, Kimi and OpenCode, each configured with a name, provider and runtime. It is offered self-hosted or as a cloud service, under a license based on Apache 2.0 with additional conditions.

Pros & cons

Each point cites its sources and says what kind of evidence backs it. A second reviewer tried to refute every claim before it was kept.

Pros

  • DocsA board where Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Copilot, OpenCode and other agent CLIs take tasks as named teammates and comment as they work.[1]
  • DocsAgents run through a daemon on your own machine or server, and the whole stack self-hosts via Docker Compose or Helm.[1]
  • User reportsUsers run it as their agent kanban.[1][2]

Cons

  • MetadataNot plain Apache-2.0: the Multica License requires a commercial license to offer it as a hosted service to outside users, even for free, or to embed it in a commercial product, and it adds branding conditions.[1]
  • MetadataA heavy backlog for its age: about 1,018 open issues on a repo created in January 2026.[1]
  • MetadataStill pre-1.0 (v0.7.1, Oct 27, 2026) and changing quickly; an earlier independent brief advised production adopters to pin versions.[1][2]
Best for
Teams that want one self-hosted board to assign and supervise work across several coding-agent CLIs.
Watch out for
Read the Multica License before building a hosted or embedded product on it.
