Context Mode is an MCP server for AI coding agents that targets context-window bloat. Its sandbox tools keep raw tool output out of context; the README cites 315 KB reduced to 5.4 KB. It tracks file edits, git operations, tasks, errors and decisions in SQLite. After compaction it retrieves only the relevant events through FTS5/BM25 search. It also has the model write scripts that print only results (ctx_execute) instead of reading many files. It covers 17 platforms: hook-capable ones such as Claude Code get automatic routing enforcement, and the rest use a routing file. It is licensed under the Elastic License 2.0.
