AionUi is a free, open-source 'Cowork' desktop app where AI agents work on the user's computer, reading files, writing code, browsing the web and automating tasks under user approval. It ships a built-in agent engine that needs no setup. It also runs dozens of external CLI agents in one interface, including Claude Code, Codex, Qwen Code, Hermes Agent and Cursor Agent, and its GitHub description names OpenClaw and OpenCode too. Users can reach it remotely through a WebUI, Telegram, Lark, DingTalk or WeChat, and schedule cron jobs for 24/7 unattended automation. It works with any API key and runs cross-platform.

Pros & cons

Each point cites its sources and says what kind of evidence backs it. A second reviewer tried to refute every claim before it was kept.

Pros

  • DocsA free desktop GUI that wraps popular CLI agents such as Claude Code, Codex and Gemini CLI in one 'Cowork' workspace.[1][2]
  • DocsRemote/WebUI access and IM bots let agents run around the clock.[1]
  • User reportsApache-2.0 and forkable; CrewBench builds observability and guardrails on top of it.[1]

Cons

  • DocsElectron-based, so it's heavier than terminal-native alternatives.[1]
  • User reportsAuth bugs in remote/web mode: logging out doesn't take effect after refresh, and sign-in failures were reported in 2.1.52.[1][2]
  • User reportsGlobal MCP servers and shared memory across agents are still feature requests.[1][2]
  • MetadataLittle independent review beyond launch posts, and about 728 open issues.[1]
Best for
People who prefer a desktop GUI over the terminal for running several CLI coding agents.
Watch out for
Lock down remote web access, given the auth bugs, before exposing it beyond localhost.
