Agent Skills Specification
The open format for packaging reusable agent skills as SKILL.md folders.
Agent Skills is an open, lightweight format for extending agents with specialised knowledge and workflows. A skill is a folder containing a SKILL.md file with name and description metadata plus instructions, optionally bundling scripts, references and assets. Agents load skills by progressive disclosure: only names and descriptions at startup, the full SKILL.md when a task matches, and bundled files during execution. This repository holds the specification and documentation; agentskills.io lists compatible clients, and Anthropic's skills repo provides examples.
