Freestyle

Full Linux VMs for AI agents that boot fast, clone live and hibernate.

Freestyle (YC S24) builds VMs for AI agents intended for tasks running hours to weeks. Its site lists fast VM startup, live cloning of running VMs including memory, pause and resume with state intact, default-deny networking with per-VM rules, live preview URLs with custom domains, WireGuard tunnels to private networks, nested virtualization for Docker, and a full kernel with FUSE and eBPF. YC describes VMs that can be snapshotted and hibernated. Founded in 2024 in San Francisco by Benjamin Swerdlow and Jacob Zwang.

E2B

Open-source sandboxes for running AI-generated code.

E2B gives agents secure, isolated cloud micro-VMs to execute code and commands — the execution runtime layer of the harness, used by many coding and data-analysis agents.

Elastic sandboxes for running AI-generated code.

Daytona provides secure, OCI-compatible sandbox 'computers' that spin up in under 90ms — with snapshots for persistent agent state. In 2026 it moved core development to a private codebase while continuing to run as a commercial platform.

Featured

The open platform for cloud coding agents.

OpenHands (formerly All Hands AI, born from the OpenDevin project) builds the major open-source coding-agent platform — agent canvas, sandboxed execution, SDK and an enterprise control plane — now rebranded under the project's name.
