mcp-agent

mcp-agent is a Python framework built on the view that MCP is all you need to build agents and that simple patterns beat complex architectures. It fully implements MCP and manages server connection lifecycles, implements the patterns from Anthropic's Building Effective Agents as composable workflows, and can scale to durable workflows on Temporal that pause, resume and recover without API changes. Agents declare which MCP servers they use and attach an LLM provider such as OpenAI.
