Agent Executor (AX)

Google's declarative control plane for running sandboxed agent tasks at cluster scale.

Agent Executor (AX) is Google's open, declarative orchestrator for running autonomous agent workloads at scale. Users declare Tasks and Workspaces (git repos, files such as AGENTS.md, MCP servers, skills) plus Model and Gateway specs in YAML; AX sandboxes each task with CPU and memory limits, wires up its workspace, enforces network policies with credential injection, and checkpoints idle agents for sub-second resume. It runs on top of the Agent Substrate runtime and targets millions of tasks per cluster. The README warns it is in heavy development with major breaking changes likely before a stable release.
