fast-agent is a Python toolkit for interacting with LLMs that can be used as a coding agent, development toolkit, evaluation harness or workflow platform. An interactive session with shell support starts via uvx. It manages skills from a registry (LSP, hooks, compaction strategies, automation), connects to stdio or streamable-HTTP MCP servers with OAuth, and can run inside any ACP client through fast-agent-acp. It supports many providers, including Hugging Face inference providers, OpenAI Codex plans and local llama.cpp models.
